The team at Apogee Bloodstock LLC comprises of a trio of bloodstock and horse racing enthusiasts; Peter Kirwan, Eddie Kenneally and Jon Christian Hays MD.

Peter Kirwan is a horseman through and through and has worked in all areas of the equine industry. A confirmation and pedigree expert, Peter has designed matings and raised horses from conception, through foaling to yearling and then breaking them for the track. He recommended the mating for KELLY'S LANDING (Golden Shaheen winner) and purchased Hum Along, dam of STORM SONG, a Breeders Cup juvenile fillies winner, and yearlings that won or placed in stakes Heavenly Landing G3, Dame Marie 2nd Grade 2, SAILORS VALENTINE Grade1 and many other winners from all price ranges. Peter, from Co. Wicklow, Ireland, has cared for stallions and broodmares in Northern Ireland, Australia and in Florida and Kentucky, learning different techniques of equine health and care. He’s also managed horse farms and owned his own for the past 14 years.

Eddie Kenneally was born and raised in County Waterford, Ireland. He inherited his passion for horses from his father who was an avid horseman. He had field hunters and often took Eddie to point to points. His uncle, John Kenneally, was a jockey who rode in the major steeplechase races including the Aintree Grand National. Eddie's brother Johnny owns and operates Erinvale Thoroughbreds, a large breeder and consignor in Australia. Horses are in the Kenneally family’s blood.
Eddie's first job with horses was prepping sales yearlings for top consignor Timmy Hyde at Camas Park Stud in County Tipperary. He moved to the U.S. in 1987 to work with yearlings at Pegasus Stud.
He first went to work at the racetrack as an exercise rider for Rusty Arnold at Keeneland and Payson Park and later worked as an assistant trainer for Tom Skiffington and Niall O'Callaghan before becoming a private trainer for Jack Kent Cooke's Elmendorf Farm. In 1997, Eddie opened Kenneally Racing as a public stable. He is currently based at Keeneland and Churchill Downs in Kentucky and during the winter months, Palm Meadows in Boynton Beach, Florida. He also keeps a string in New York year round with barns at Belmont and Saratoga.
Eddie won the $2m Dubai Golden Shaheen with KELLY'S LANDING, who is now retired from racing but still serves as Eddie's pony to escort other horses to the track.

Racing enthusiast and organiser of the team, Jon Christian Hays MD, is Director of Electrophysiology and Chief of the Division of Electrophysiology at St Elizabeth Healthcare, Kentucky.
Christian Hays is a physician specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. He is committed to his profession and brings his highly skilled technical medical training to his daily efforts to help people with serious heart problems. He is also passionate about horse racing. He has a lifelong involvement with horse racing, initially through his family taking part in racing and breeding Quarter horses and in later life with Thoroughbreds. In the same detailed manner, he studied the human heart in medical school, Christian has studied Thoroughbred horses, with particular interest in pedigrees, genetics, physiognomy and comparative anatomy with an emphasis on what makes a Thoroughbred horse athletic and “fast”.
His comprehensive medical training has instilled an ethos of risk management and Christian has brought this mindset to the operation of Apogee Bloodstock, treating investors with the same care and respect as he gives his patients.
